The Opportunity

Western Truck Repairs is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Panel Shop Foreman to join our team!

As the Panel Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing our panel shop team, allocating work, and ensuring the high-quality repair and restoration of trucks and vehicles. The ideal candidate will be trade qualified and possess strong leadership skills to lead a team in delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the panel shop team, ensuring they work efficiently and effectively to meet production goals
  • Assign tasks to the panel shop team members, considering their skills, strengths, and workloads to optimise productivity
  • Report directly to the Production Manager, providing regular updates on the status of ongoing projects, team performance, and any issues that may arise
  • Participate in weekly walk arounds of the workshop with the Production Manager to assess progress, identify challenges, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Take images of work in progress and upload them to the job record, ensuring that records are kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant parties
  • Identify and report any additional parts or materials required for ongoing jobs to the Production Manager to prevent delays
  • Assist in upskilling the panel shop team by providing training, guidance, and mentoring to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure that repairs and restorations meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of panel shop tools, equipment, and repair techniques
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
