The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for Apprentice Body Builder to join the team at Wales Bus Repairs.

You'll be part of a team responsible for repairing and maintaining buses and coaches. You'll learn how to use various tools and techniques to construct and repair vehicle bodies, frames, and other components to bring heavy vehicles back to their original condition.

You'll work alongside experienced professionals who will mentor and guide you through the learning process. The role involves physical work, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team. What is Body Building?

Body Building refers to the specialised craft of skilfully fabricating and installing custom bodies onto the chassis of a variety of heavy vehicles. Throughout the apprenticeship, this intricate process will develop your practical skills and build expertise in the craft of body building. 

 

What you will learn:

As an Apprentice Body Builder at Wales Bus Repairs, you will learn to:

  1. Welding and Fabrication: Assist in welding and fabricating heavy vehicle body components, ensuring structural integrity and quality.
  2. Assembly and Installation: Participate in assembling and installing body parts, such as panels, roofs, and doors, using precision techniques.
  3. Repair and Maintenance: Aid in diagnosing and repairing damaged vehicle bodies, restoring them to optimal condition.
  4. Tool and Equipment Operation: Gain proficiency in operating tools and equipment, including power tools and cutting machinery.
  5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate to ensure finished products meet quality standards, performing inspections and adjustments as needed.
  6. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
