The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join our Team at Wales Adelaide in Kilburn.
Role responsibilities
- Assist Auto Electricians: Collaborate closely with auto electricians in diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical components in vehicles.
- Vehicle Inspection: Inspect vehicles to identify electrical and electronic issues, document findings, and report them to the auto electrician.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that tools and equipment are in good working condition, properly cleaned, and organized for efficient use.
- Parts Management: Assist in managing and organizing electrical parts, components, and supplies, ensuring they are readily available for the auto electrician.
- Wiring and Harness Work: Support in the installation, repair, and maintenance of vehicle wiring, harnesses, and connectors as directed by the auto electrician.
- Battery Services: Assist in battery replacements, charging, and testing under the guidance of the auto electrician.
- Troubleshooting: Collaborate with the auto electrician to troubleshoot electrical problems in vehicles and implement solutions.
- Component Removal and Installation: Assist in the removal and installation of electrical components, such as alternators, starters, and lighting systems.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, guidelines, and regulations while working in the repair facility.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in the work area, and assist with general facility maintenance tasks to create a safe and organized environment.
- Documentation: Help in keeping detailed records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked on each vehicle for billing and tracking purposes.
- Quality Control: Contribute to quality control efforts by inspecting work completed and ensuring that all electrical systems function correctly.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers as necessary, providing updates on the progress of vehicle repairs and answering basic inquiries.
Does this sound like you?
- Have experience working on heavy vehicles - trucks and buses (desirable)
- Have full Australian Working rights and valid drivers licence
