The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Spray Painter to join our team at Western Truck Repairs in Williamstown.
This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes and enjoys working in a supportive, team-focused environment. You’ll play an important role in maintaining workshop standards, supporting apprentices, and contributing to an efficient and professional workplace.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and applying paint and coatings to trucks, buses, coaches, and trailers, ensuring a high-quality finish while enhancing the appearance of each vehicle.
Role responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces and apply paint finishes to trucks, buses, coaches, and trailers
- Mix and match colours, including minor tint adjustments, to achieve a high-quality finish
- Complete all paint work in line with company processes and safety standards
- Maintain spray booths, tools, and equipment in a clean and organised condition
- Deliver quality workmanship with strong attention to detail
- Work efficiently within a fast-paced workshop environment
- Support apprentices and contribute to a positive team culture
- Use initiative and problem-solving skills to keep jobs moving smoothly
- Maintain reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Take pride in producing consistently excellent results
Does this sound like you?
- Be a Trade Qualified Spray Painter (essential)
- Experience in the Heavy Vehicle industry (Preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in spray painting OR ability to provide examples of high-quality work
- Current driver’s licence
- Have full Australian Working rights and valid driver's licence
- HR truck licence - Highly Regarded (but not essential)
- Forklift licence - Highly Regarded (but not essential)
