The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join the AMA Heavy and Specialist Division in Melbourne.

The Heavy and Specialist division is a brand new service within the AMA Group which you will have the rare opportunity to be a part of, your role will entail the launching of this new division from scratch! This amazing role will be based in our St Kilda Road office and offers flexibility with hybrid working arrangements.

This role will support the General Manager Finance – AMA Heavy and Specialist Division with routine and ad hoc financial analysis tasks. This will include budgeting and planning, performance analytics, and management reporting. The role will work closely with the Finance Business Partner and Commercial Planning and Analysis Manager to empower them to make informed decisions based on financial and non-financial metrics.

Role Responsibilities

  •  Assist in the preparation of detailed forecasts to underpin the strategic plan, annual budget and rolling forecasts.
  • Support capital planning and prioritisation processes.
  • Partner with the financial accounting team on cash flow forecasting
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders provide data-driven insights into the business.
  •  Analysis of risks, impacts and mitigations.
  •  Scenario analysis for a range of investment decisions.
  •  Variance analysis and insights on volume, revenue, cost of goods and overheads by business segment and customer.
  • Identification & support achievement of profit improvement initiatives by assisting with delivery and driving achievement.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and commercial opportunities.
  • Support the GM Finance and Finance Business Partner to produce high quality, accurate and timely financial reports, and executive presentations.
  • Execution of standard daily, weekly, and monthly reporting across financial and non-financial metrics.
  • Support the General Manager Finance and broader business on various projects and initiatives as required.
  •  Assist the Commercial Pricing and Analysis Manager to analyse financial and non-financial metrics as required.
  • Update periodic reporting obligations for major customers and internal stakeholders.

Does this sound like you?

  • Approx. 4+years demonstrated post-graduate experience in FP&A or other finance position.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (finance, commerce, engineering) and post-graduate qualification (CA, CPA, CFA).
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Excellent numeric and analytical skills combined with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Energetic, self-motivated, disciplined, and hands-on
  • Highly organised with ability to complete multiple tasks at any given time and deliver to deadline.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (specifically Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI)
