Join Alliance Automation
At Alliance Automation, we focus on winning the right work — projects we can deliver well.
We deliver automation, electrical, and digital solutions across Australia’s critical industries. This role sits at the centre of that — shaping how control systems work is priced, structured, and secured.
This isn’t admin. It’s about building accurate estimates, defining practical solutions, and submitting bids that stack up commercially and technically.
What’s in it for you
Ownership
Lead control system estimates end-to-end — from scope through to final submission.
Impact
Work closely with engineers, vendors, and commercial teams to shape deliverable solutions.
Real Projects
PLC, SCADA, DCS, and electrical scopes across active industrial work — not recycled bids.
Strong Team
Experienced engineers who know what good looks like.
Package
- Competitive salary
- Development support
- Paid parental leave
- 20 days annual leave + purchase option
- Flexible work
The Opportunity
This isn’t a coordination role — it’s a hands-on position owning how control systems work is priced, structured, and secured.
As the Control Systems Solutions Architect – Bids & Proposals, you’ll take ownership of the full bid lifecycle across PLC, SCADA, DCS, and electrical scopes — with clear accountability for estimate accuracy, technical integrity, and commercial outcomes.
From interpreting client requirements through to final submission, you’ll develop costed control system solutions that are practical to deliver and commercially sound.
You’ll work across multiple industries and regions, partnering with engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to build estimates that stack up — and submissions that win the right work at the right margin.
This role suits someone who understands that strong control system solutions — and strong projects — start with disciplined estimating.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own end-to-end delivery of EOIs, RFPs, and RFQs for control systems and electrical scopes
- Develop detailed cost estimates across PLC, SCADA, DCS, and associated infrastructure
- Interpret client specifications and define fit-for-purpose control system architectures
- Validate scope, resources, and delivery methodologies to ensure estimates are accurate and executable
- Engage with control system vendors to validate technical solutions and obtain pricing
- Define technical approach, methodologies, and engineering assumptions within submissions
- Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to align scope, execution, and risk
- Identify, assess, and manage technical and commercial risks
- Drive timelines, governance, and overall submission quality
- Maintain and improve estimating tools, cost libraries, and proposal documentation
What Sets You Apart
- Strong experience in control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) within industrial environments
- Proven capability in tendering and estimating automation and electrical projects
- Ability to translate scope into practical, deliverable control system solutions
- Experience estimating across greenfield and brownfield projects
- Comfortable working with major vendors to validate solutions and build pricing
- Confident clarifying technical requirements and scope with clients
- Solid understanding of commercial frameworks, contracts, and risk
- Structured, detail-focused, and commercially aware
- Able to bring clarity to complex, multi-disciplinary inputs
Why This Role Stands Out
At Alliance, control systems estimating and tendering is treated as a core capability — not an afterthought.
You’ll step into:
- A national pipeline of complex control systems projects
- Strong in-house engineering capability with proven delivery backing
- Direct influence over solution design, pricing, and risk outcomes
- The opportunity to lift estimating discipline and technical consistency across bids
- A role with clear impact on both project success and business performance
If you can build accurate control system estimates, define practical solutions, and turn that into submissions that win profitable work — this is where you do it effectively.
