Alfred Health Care Group is seeking a dynamic Family Violence Program Lead to provide operational and clinical leadership to drive best-practice family violence responses across our organisation.

The Role

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for leadership, system improvement and delivering impactful responses to Family violence?

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and strengthening the Family Violence Program across Alfred Health. You will work closely with senior clinical and operational Social work leaders to ensure the program is aligned, effective and responsive to the needs of patients and families experiencing family violence.

You will play a central role in embedding evidence-based practice, supporting staff capability, and ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks including MARAM and Information Sharing Schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Family Violence Program across Alfred Health Care Group
  • Support implementation of the 2026 Family Violence Review recommendations
  • Align the Family Violence team within broader Social Work structures
  • Ensure delivery of a high-quality, evidence-based casework service
  • Provide operational leadership, workforce management and team support
  • Promote and embed Family Violence training (including LEX modules) across the organisation
  • Deliver targeted face to face education to key clinical areas with high risk family violence presentations
  • Support implementation of referral pathways and clinical processes
  • Manage key systems including Information Sharing Schemes and high-risk EMR alerts
  • Provide expert advice on family violence legislation, MARAM and organisational compliance
  • Contribute to clinical risk management and organisational reporting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support supervision, workforce development and student placements in collaboration with the SW Department 
  • Carry a small caseload of complex, high-risk cases and provide end-to-end discharge planning

About You

You are a confident and collaborative Social work leader with strong clinical credibility and a deep understanding of family violence practice within a hospital setting.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a hospital setting 
  • Strong knowledge of MARAM, Information Sharing Schemes and relevant legislation
  • Experience managing complex family violence risk and providing expert advice
  • Ability to lead service improvement, education and workforce capability initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience in supervision, mentoring and supporting multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent) with eligibility for AASW membership (or relevant allied health qualification)
  • At least 10yrs of clinical experience within a hospital setting. Management and Leadership experience is essential for this role
