About the Unit

Consultation-Liaison & Emergency (CLE) Psychiatry sits within the AMAH Hospital & Emergency Department. It includes CL Psychiatry services at the Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals (including Alfred Emergency & Trauma Centre), Crisis, Assessment & Treatment Team (CATT), Psychiatric Triage and Alfred Hope.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced consultant psychiatrist to work fractionally for 16 hours per week within AMAH CLE Neuropsychiatry Service. This position includes a clinical role within the AMAH CL Psychiatry Neuropsychiatry Service providing inpatient and outpatient liaison services to patients with epilepsy and functional seizures

Qualifications and Experience Required

Applicants must be legally qualified practitioners, registered or registrable with AHPRA and a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. They must be accredited RANZCP supervisors, demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience in mental health care and meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Psychiatry. Accredited membership of the RANZCP Faculty of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is highly desirable, along with specific experience in neuropsychiatry, epilepsy and functional neurological disorders . Research experience would also be advantageous.
