The Department
This is an incredible opportunity to join a fantastic team in a recently redeveloped Emergency Department. We treat patients who are suffering from serious illness or injury that could lead to severe complications if medical treatment is not received quickly. We strive to ensure all patients receive timely, high-quality care and receive prompt, upfront assessment by the most senior doctor available to minimise the time spent waiting.
The Role
The Emergency and Trauma Centre Ward Clerk position is a key role in registering, admitting and discharging all patients who attend the Emergency and Trauma Centre and the Virtual ED.
You will be responsible for the coordination of communication, patient services and clerical functions as directed by the Associate Director of Emergency Nursing. Your goal is to promote and maintain good customer relations with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff.
Skills and Qualifications Required
You will have outstanding interpersonal and customer relation skills to appropriately work with members of the public and a variety of health professionals. Experience with managing telephones and reception are essential. Excellent clerical and computer skills and the ability to multi-task are core skills required.
Completion of a medical terminology course or experience working with medical terminology would be favourable.
