The Department

The Emergency Service within Alfred Health sees over 100,000 patients per annum. The Alfred Emergency & Trauma Centre (E&TC) manages approximately 75,000 patients and the Sandringham Emergency Department manages approximately 45,000. Sandringham Emergency Department is community focused and has an integrated Urgent Care Centre model of care whilst the E&TC provides emergency medical services to the local community whilst also providing Victorian state-wide services.

The Role

The Nurse Manager - Workforce & Operations supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes the development of nurses, ensuring the philosophy of nursing and standards of practice are consistently reflected in professional practice and patient care. Together with the Alfred E&TC Nurse Manager and Sandringham Emergency Nurse Manager, the Nurse Manager for Workforce & Operations is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes.    

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Current Registered Nurse Division 1 registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Post graduate qualifications in health care or business management preferred   
  • Demonstrated experience in Leadership positions   
  • Post graduate qualification or working towards the same    
  • Ability to work effectively and provide support to nursing staff, senior medical staff, a range of other health professionals and support service staff
