The Department
Rehabilitation Services
Caulfield Rehabilitation Services provides specialised inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from non-traumatic spinal conditions, amputations, and complex multi-trauma. Our goal is to deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports each patient’s recovery journey and promotes independence.
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team on Ward AC3.
Ward AC3 is a 25-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit that provides care for patients with non-traumatic spinal conditions, amputations, and complex multi-trauma.
The ward supports a diverse patient population, often with complex medical, surgical, and psychosocial needs. AC3 offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where interdisciplinary collaboration is essential. The unit is supported by a highly skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team—including nursing, allied health, medical, and support staff—all working together to provide tailored, goal-directed rehabilitation plans that address both short- and long-term recovery goals.
The Role
The Clinical Support and Development Nurse plays a key leadership role in supporting the growth and capability of the nursing workforce and improving the quality of care provision on the ward. Working alongside the Nurse Unit Manager and supported by the Nursing Education team for the Program, this position focuses on:
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the creation of a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- Monitoring the clinical performance of the ward in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager and supporting the team to develop initiatives for required practice change and improvements
- Leading the development of preceptors and supporting the orientation of new team members and graduate nurses
- Identifying the professional development needs of the nursing team and designing learning and career pathways in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Nursing Education team
- Promoting evidence-based practice and clinical excellence through education and role modelling
- Providing mentorship, clinical guidance, and day-to-day support to nursing staff
About You
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who brings:
- Proven clinical experience in rehabilitation, medical, or surgical nursing
- A passion for clinical leadership, quality improvement, education and mentoring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to team-based, person-centred care
- An ability to promote reflective practice and continuous improvement
