The Family Violence Program
The Family Violence (FV) Program comprises 4 EFT and is led by the Family Violence Program Lead. Since April 2021, the whole-of-health service response to family violence has been overseen by the Family Violence Team at Alfred Health. As a prescribed organisation under Victorian family violence legislation, Alfred Health is required to meet specific obligations, including alignment with MARAM practice responsibilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will contribute to the delivery of high-quality family violence education while maintaining a direct clinical caseload. To strengthen the organisation’s whole-of-hospital FV response, an online FV education module was launched in 2025 via the LEX Alfred Health Education platform to ensure consistent training across all staffing groups.
The Family Violence Senior Clinician will provide a strong clinical response to FV referrals while supporting the Social Work workforce in managing family violence presentations. This role carries a daily clinical caseload and delivers frontline expertise to meet increasing referral demands, contributing to ongoing service development and quality improvement.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position will actively support FV education across Alfred Health, including facilitation of online training and limited face-to-face sessions as required. Working in collaboration with the Family Violence Program Lead and Family Violence Clinical Lead, this position strengthens Alfred Health’s family violence response. This role will need to work with the Family Violence leads and Alfred Social work Management to streamline and consolidate the FV Educational response across the organisation. Data collection and education feedback will need to form part of this role.
