The Lung Function Laboratory at the Alfred is one of the largest in Victoria, performing a comprehensive range of physiological tests using state-of-the-art testing equipment.


We currently have a full time, temporary Respiratory Scientist position available for 20 weeks with potential for extension of contract up to 4 weeks.  The successful applicant will be primarily employed to undertake research testing for a large research project based in Morwell and Sale in regional VictoriaApplicants must be prepared to work in Morwell and Sale for the duration of their contract, though there may be some opportunity to also work at The Alfred.


  • Bachelor of Science/Applied Science with a major in physiology, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Quick learner
  • Work independently as well as part of a team
  • Previous experience in the measurement of lung function is highly desirable and advantageous.  Training will be provided (at The Alfred).
