Lead critical electrical infrastructure in a complex, safety-focused environment.

We are seeking a Head of Electrical to provide strategic leadership across electrical asset management, maintenance operations and capital works at Darwin International Airport. This senior role is responsible for leading people, managing contractors, ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering reliable electrical infrastructure that supports safe, 24/7 airport operations.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager – Airports, you will play a key role in shaping long-term electrical and asset strategies while building a high-performing, safety-led team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary electrical team and contractor partners
  • Own the performance, reliability and compliance of all electrical assets, including airfield lighting and power distribution
  • Drive proactive asset management and maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and risk
  • Oversee emergency response planning for critical electrical infrastructure
  • Manage contractor KPIs, service delivery and performance reviews
  • Lead delivery of capital works and infrastructure projects, on time and within budget
  • Contribute to asset lifecycle planning, CAPEX forecasting and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with CASA, WHS, environmental and security requirements
  • Champion a strong safety, accountability and continuous improvement culture

About You

Essential

  • Proven leadership experience in electrical infrastructure, asset management or facilities management
  • Strong background in contractor management, maintenance planning and capital works delivery
  • A Grade NT Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and regulatory compliance
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong decision-making skills
  • Eligible to obtain an ASIC and pass an AFP check
  • Current Australian driver’s licence

Desirable

  • Experience in aviation, transport, utilities or other regulated infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of CASA and Australian aviation legislation
  • Ability to obtain an NT Electrical Contractor’s in-house nominee licence
