We are seeking a highly skilled Head of IT Architecture & Cybersecurity to join our Corporate Services IT team. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will provide strategic leadership across enterprise architecture, solution design, and cybersecurity operations, ensuring our technology environment is secure, scalable, and aligned to organisational goals.

About the role

As the Head of IT Architecture & Cybersecurity, you’ll be the primary technology partner for stakeholders across the business. You will oversee all solution and domain architecture activities, define and maintain our reference architectures and technology roadmaps, and lead cybersecurity governance, compliance, and operational resilience programs.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for designing secure technical solutions, overseeing security operations, and ensuring compliance with frameworks such as Essential 8/NIST, ISO27001, and SOCI.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Leadership

  • Develop scalable, secure, efficient, and cost-effective technical solutions, including design documentation and architecture diagrams.
  • Define and maintain all reference and domain architectures, ensuring alignment with the ADG IT Roadmap.
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board and promote engagement across the organisation.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure architecture and cybersecurity considerations are embedded in all projects.

Cybersecurity Leadership

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of cybersecurity compliance programs.
  • Oversee daily security operations, including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and cloud security posture monitoring.
  • Own and manage all high-priority cybersecurity incidents.
  • Ensure security policies, standards, and controls meet regulatory and customer expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks across supply chain, data governance, applications, and infrastructure.

Risk, Safety & Compliance

  • Apply the ADG Risk Management Framework to identify, assess, and manage IT and cybersecurity risks.
  • Promote a safety-conscious culture with attention to environmental and operational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all ADG Cybersecurity Policies and Guidelines.

About You

You are a confident technology leader with deep experience across architecture, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure environments. You thrive in complex environments and can translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes.

Essential criteria:

  • Extensive IT architecture and cybersecurity experience within critical infrastructure.
  • TOGAF or equivalent industry certification.
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies, protocols, and best-practice controls.
  • Deep understanding of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, Essential 8.
  • Expertise in risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Minimum 7+ years in architecture and cybersecurity, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, compliance, and vendor management skills.
  • Proven experience working with senior leadership teams.
