Airport Development Group (ADG) owns and manages diverse infrastructure assets across the Northern Territory including airports, hotels, aviation, and commercial buildings. Investing, developing, and managing long term infrastructure to grow the Territory and Northern Australia.
We are looking for a reliable Groundsperson to join our team at Alice Springs airport. You will assist with carrying out day-to-day maintenance of airport grounds and infrastructure to contribute to the safe operation of the airport.
You will work with our team to ensure that relevant safety, security and environmental regulations, company policies and procedures are implemented and enforced.
This role may also support the Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) work to assist the team as required, during emergencies, team absence and busy periods once trained to the appropriate level.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Mowing lawns and pruning trees
- Maintaining a clean and hazard-free runway
- Conducting general repairs and upkeep of airport facilities
- Operating equipment like mowers, backhoes, and bobcats
- Escorting contractor's airside when required
- Replacing and repairing airside furniture as needed
- Repainting airside lines when they fade
- Carrying out tasks safely and reporting any safety issues
- Assisting the aerodrome reporting officer during emergencies and busy periods (once trained)
- Inspecting, monitoring, and reporting on airport conditions
- Responding to airport emergencies when required
To be successful, you will need:
- Experience with grounds maintenance equipment
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Initiative and motivation to maintain airport land
- Minor infrastructure maintenance experience
- An NT driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Forklift operation certification or ability to obtain it
- An airside driver's license or ability to obtain one
- First aid certification
- Good communication and computer skills
- Eligibility for an aviation identification security check and pass a national police check
- The position is subject to the NTAPL drug and alcohol management plan and ongoing testing regime.
Desirable skills include:
- Knowledge of the general requirements of the NT work health and safety Act and regulations.
- Heavy vehicle license
- Plant operator license
