About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and safety-focused Airport Reporting Officer / Groundsperson to support the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of Tennant Creek Airport. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining operational standards across airside and landside environments, ensuring compliance with aviation, safety, security, and environmental regulations.

You’ll play a key role in monitoring airport conditions, responding to incidents, and maintaining critical infrastructure—helping ensure a safe and seamless experience for all airport users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of airside and terminal operations
  • Report on aerodrome serviceability, safety risks, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) and/or Works Safety Officer duties as required
  • Respond to airport and terminal emergencies in a timely and effective manner
  • Assist with the maintenance of airport grounds and infrastructure, including mowing, painting, pavement repairs, and minor civil works
  • Support compliance with CASA and company operational requirements
  • Maintain strong working relationships with tenants, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety-first culture at all times
  • Identify and manage risks in line with the company’s Risk Management Framework
  • Contribute to a safety-conscious and environmentally responsible workplace
  • Comply with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP)
  • Operate within a Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity (SSAA) environment
  • Follow company policies and guidelines to identify and respond to cyber security risks

About You

  • Experience in airport operations, grounds maintenance, civil works, or a similar environment (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and operational procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Willingness to participate in emergency response and on-call requirements if needed
