The Aviation Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for driving significant growth in airport passenger traffic. This involves cultivating relationships and establishing strategic cooperative marketing partnerships with key market development stakeholders including airlines, tourism bodies, travel trade, and airports. Conducting market research and analysis will be critical to understand traveller behaviours and gaps in the market where investment will yield profitable results. The Aviation Marketing Specialist will utilise expertise in marketing and communications to develop and deliver aviation marketing activity where investment will generate passenger growth across Airport Development Group’s (ADG) airports.
What you will do
- Serve as the primary lead for the implementation of the Aviation Marketing Strategic Plan, overseeing the rollout of all key campaigns and promotional activities.
- Execute and manage high-impact aviation marketing partnerships, targeting primarily outbound travel, with domestic and international airlines and key strategic partners including interstate and international destination marketing organisations.
- Design, develop, and deliver the aviation marketing campaign for ADG airports.
- Collaborate with the Content and Marketing Manager and Head of Corporate Affairs to drive aviation-focused social media engagement and Public Relations (PR) activities.
- Manage commercial relationships with travel trade partners, creative agencies, media agencies, and other service delivery partners.
- Manage and oversee the generation and application of aviation marketing data, insights, and reporting initiatives to inform strategy and measure performance.
- Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports detailing all aviation marketing activities to internal senior leadership and external key partners.
What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualification in business, marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years) in a marketing or advertising role
- Proven capability in developing and executing promotional activity, including effective management and briefing of media and creative agencies
- Solid experience in negotiating, implementing, and delivering complex cooperative marketing agreements
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and presentation development
Desirable
- Prior experience in an airline, airport, or travel agency environment
- Strong copywriting skills with a portfolio of published work (blogs, press releases, or marketing copy)
- Working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
