Airport Development Group (ADG) is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to drive strategic procurement outcomes across a diverse and operationally complex airport environment.
This role is responsible for delivering value through strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier engagement—ensuring cost optimisation, compliance, and supply continuity across a broad range of operational categories including facilities, fleet, utilities, security, technology, and corporate services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute category strategies and sourcing plans that deliver commercial value and operational efficiency
- Develop and implement the annual procurement plan aligned with organisational priorities and budgets
- Establish risk-based procurement priorities to optimise outcomes across the business
- Analyse spend data and develop “should-cost” models to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFPs, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation
- Manage and optimise supplier contracts, ensuring delivery against KPIs and SLAs
- Build and maintain collaborative supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Proactively manage supplier risks and support resolution of commercial issues
- Collaborate with internal teams including Operations, Facilities, IT, Legal, and Finance to understand needs and deliver procurement solutions
- Provide clear, practical procurement advice aligned to business objectives
- Deliver regular reporting and insights to senior leadership and the Board
- Support capability uplift through guidance and knowledge sharing across the business
- Maintain and enhance procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
- Manage procurement risk registers and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Modern Slavery requirements
- Promote a strong safety and environmental culture across procurement activities
- Ensure procurement practices align with regulatory and quality standards
- Apply organisational policies to identify and respond to cyber security risks within the supply chain
About You
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Experience in a procurement, supply chain, or logistics environment, including leadership responsibilities
- Demonstrated capability in contract negotiation, procurement governance, and value analysis
- Strong knowledge of purchasing and inventory management practices
- Experience working with procurement systems and using data to inform decisions
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and pass an AFP check
- Australian driver’s licence, or ability to obtain one
Desirable:
- Experience in an asset-intensive or infrastructure environment
- Formal qualifications in Procurement or Supply Chain
- Membership with a professional body such as CIPS
- Experience with ERP systems such as Infor or TechnologyOne
