Key Responsibilities

  • Input internal allocations and end-of-month journals for closing of monthly accounts.
  • Transaction and ledger analysis as requested.
  • Digitalise all relevant financial paper correspondence received and ensure that all bank, credit card and other statements are saved in the records management system.
  • Effectively utilise the electronic records management system to ensure efficient lodgement and retrieval of related files and ensure finance transactions undertaken are adequately supported with relevant files / attachments.
  • Perform other duties relevant to finance and the Corporate Services Department, as required.
  • Carry out daily receipting. Allocate payments (EFT, credit card, cash / cheque banking).
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts into the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable System.
  • Assist with the identification, investigation and collection of overdue accounts and other debtors. 

Safety & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and manage risk through application of ADG Risk Management Framework.
  • Promote sustainable and safety conscious culture by ensuring environmental and safety risks are identified, assessed, and treated.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or equivalent with good results in Accounting, English, Maths and or related subjects.
  • Less than 2 years to complete Accounting/finance degree.
  • Strong desire and enthusiasm to work and learn new finance and accounting skills.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbally) financial concepts and solutions.
