Airport Development Group (ADG) manages multiple airports across the Northern Territory and is experiencing an exciting period of growth. We are seeking a proactive Safety Advisor to support WHS compliance across airport operations and construction activities.

This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced aviation environment and is passionate about building a strong safety culture.

About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will provide practical WHS advice, conduct inspections and audits, and support continuous improvement of ADG’s safety systems.

This is a Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity (SSAA) role and requires infrequent travel to Tennant Creek Aerodrome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site inspections and audits, including construction activities
  • Develop, review and maintain WHS documentation (plans, SWMS, permits, policies and procedures)
  • Deliver safety inductions, briefings and WHS training
  • Provide WHS and risk management advice to staff, contractors and management
  • Maintain WHS systems in line with legislation and organisational requirements
  • Support policy and procedure reviews to ensure legislative compliance
  • Assist with tenancy inspections to identify safety hazards
  • Provide aviation safety advice and support incident investigations
  • Promote a strong, sustainable safety culture across ADG

About You

Essential

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or related field)
  • Experience in WHS compliance within construction, aviation or infrastructure
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to hazard identification
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC

Desirable

  • Experience developing safety systems and documentation
  • Ability to interpret WHS legislation and codes of practice
  • Report writing experience
