About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate and driven Academic Lecturer with a specialisation in Audio and Live Sound with a post-graduate qualification. You will have a detail-oriented approach, student service mentality and strong personal drive.

 

About the Role

This casual Academic Lecturer role, reports to the Associate Head of Learning and Teaching, and is responsible for the delivery of high quality education, student satisfaction and supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes. 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and update course materials
  • Deliver practical course materials to students
  • Draft, review and update assessment materials
  • Assess and determine student results with reference to the course criteria
  • Provide individual guidance and support for students
  • Monitor student performance, attendance and participation
  • Drive student engagement with the subject matter
  • Retain industry knowledge and currency in the field
  • Support the Institute through an array of changes

 

Your Qualifications

  • Academic teaching staff must be qualified to at least one level of qualification (AQF level or equivalent) higher than the course of study being taught (in this case, AQF8), or have approved equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise
  • Current Working with Children Check clearance or willingness to obtain one

 

Your Experience

  • Demonstrated previous experience and success in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience within the creative industry
  • Experience in supervision and research methodologies desirable
  • Experience in cultural policy and or arts marketing
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of the challenges and needs facing students
  • Strong individual and team-based collaboration in the achievement of goals
  • Able to work under tight deadlines with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
