The Australian Institute of Music, or AIM, is seeking an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager. This role will be responsible for managing all tasks associated with the development, maintenance, review and improvement of AIM’s Quality Management System including registration, accreditation and CRICOS compliance documentation across the institute. 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Quality and Compliance Manager is required to:

  • Continuously improve AIM’s Quality Management System
  • Develop, review and maintain a comprehensive collection of policies and procedures to govern AIM, in compliance with legislation and the changing needs of the business.
  • Facilitate activities supporting institutional Registration and course Accreditation.
  • Manage quality and compliance team workflow and task allocation.
  • Liaise with relevant industry and regulatory authorities to stay up to date with industry developments.
  • Ensure consistency in style and format across all compliance documentation.
  • Compile reports, explanatory information and data analysis as required.
  • Plan to maintain the Governance Charter and schedule board and committee meetings.
  • Provide support for all accredited program design and delivery, working together with academic staff and other relevant departments.
  • Ensure the Institute is operating within, and adhering to, legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide advice relating to the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF).
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance for team members.
  • Contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and strategic plans.

Experience and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with the management of quality assurance systems and frameworks, and auditing in higher education and VET
  • Prior experience in a senior administrative role in a tertiary education environment
  • Policy development experience
  • High level administration and IT skills essential to the role
  • Knowledge of Australian and overseas tertiary education and compliance procedures
  • Knowledge of Australian vocational education and training regulations (ASQA)
  • Demonstrated experience in ongoing enhancement of both electronic and procedural documents pertaining to compliance related information systems
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining auditable record keeping systems
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in relationship management
