Aboriginal Housing Victoria (AHV) is an Aboriginal1 community organisation responsible for managing more than 1,600 rental properties for Aboriginal people living in Victoria.

In addition to being the largest Aboriginal Registered Housing Agency in Australia, AHV is the lead agency for Victoria’s Aboriginal housing and homelessness policy, Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort. As the housing and homeless policy lead in the Victorian Aboriginal community, AHV has responsibility to work in partnership with the Government to secure the resources and reforms to implement the policy, while we support sector development to empower Victoria’s Aboriginal community to determine its chosen housing future.
AHV's housing services are targeted to those most in need of support. Through the provision of secure housing by an Aboriginal rental provider, AHV helps strengthen and maintain Aboriginal communities and cultural ties.
The Strategy and Performance division at AHV focuses on ensuring high quality internal governance, policy development and sector leadership. The division is comprised of four teams, three of which are responsible for the implementation of Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort: the Victorian Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Framework. The division is overseen by a Director of Strategy and Performance.
Aboriginal Housing Victoria leads a broad range of projects along the five strategic objectives of Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort. Reporting to the relevant manager, the project officer will provide critical support in the planning, implementation and delivery of projects in line with Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort and the broader goals of Aboriginal Housing Victoria.
The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the projects are delivered on time and to a quality standard. This includes proactively identifying and managing risks, coordinating resources allocation and driving continuous improvements. Working closely with a broad range of stakeholders including the Aboriginal community-controlled sector and partners in government, the project officer will contribute towards impactful change and meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.

- Demonstrated commitment to advancing housing rights and addressing housing inequality.
- Proven experience leading and managing complex projects from start to finish
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Experience in managing project budgets, resources and ensuring cost effective project delivery
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to track and report on project financials
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, assessing, communicating and managing project risks and issues
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a complex and fast paced environment
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing diverse and cross functional project teams
- Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
