Are you a Carpentry Trainer & Assessor or qualified Carpenter looking for a rewarding opportunity in education and training?
AGA (Apprenticeship Group Australia) is seeking a passionate Part Time (Casual) Carpentry Trainer to deliver hands‑on Building & Construction (Carpentry) training to Year 10–12 school students, and potentially on occasions pre‑apprentices and apprentices across the South Eastern Suburbs and Gippsland.
This part‑time casual role is ideal for Experienced or newly qualified trainers whio hold a Certificate IV in Training & assessment (TAE), or experienced tradies transitioning into training, offering flexible work and strong support within a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
The Role
You’ll initially work one day per week (Wednesdays during Terms 2 & 3), with opportunities for:
- Additional days
- Relief teaching
- Additional days subject to growth
Training may be delivered across AGA’s purpose‑built training centres in Warragul and Korumburra, as well as school‑based delivery in the South Eastern Suburbs and Mornington Peninsula. You’ll be fully supported by an experienced and collaborative training team.

You’ll deliver practical, hands‑on carpentry training to a diverse group of learners. While there maybe some opportunity to teach adult learners, the core focus is secondary school students experiencing trades for the first time.

Our Training Pathway
AGA delivers a unique 6.5‑year training journey, guiding students from early exposure to full qualification:
- Multi Industry Pathways Program – Year 10 Trade Taster
- 22614VIC – Certificate II in Building & Construction (Pre‑Apprenticeship Carpentry) – Years 11 & 12
- CPC30220 – Certificate III in Building & Construction (Carpentry)
- (School‑Based Apprentices, Young Adults and Adult Apprentices)
Training is delivered through our centres or directly in the workplace using our flexible workplace training model.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, practical and industry‑aligned carpentry training
- Work with Year 10–12 students enrolled in VDSS, VETDSS, VCE Vocational Major and VPC programs
- Support all learners, pre‑apprentices and apprentices (school‑based and adult)
- Create safe, inclusive and real‑world learning environments
- Collaborate with a supportive and passionate leadership team
About You
- Trade qualification in Building & Construction (Carpentry)
- Strong communication skills, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Safety‑first approach
- Computer literacy
- Working With Children Check
Highly Desirable (not essential):
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110)
- Applicants with teaching or education qualifications and relevant trade experience are encouraged
