About the Role:

Avondale Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Manager to join our team. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the General Manager in administering nursing services at both Avondale House and Alton Lodge, Cooranbong, ensuring the highest standard of care for our residents.

About Us:

Adventist Senior Living (ASL), a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (Northern NSW Conference), is dedicated to enhancing the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of older Australians through Christ-centred care. Avondale Care, part of ASL, provides both low and high residential care at Avondale House and Alton Lodge, alongside a growing Home Care service that supports residents within ASL villages and the broader community.

The Clinical Care team at Avondale Care is responsible for sourcing, screening, admitting, and caring for residents within residential facilities, as well as overseeing accreditation and funding coordination. As a key member of the Clinical and Leadership team, this role works closely with the General Manager, Care Coordinators, Department Coordinators, and the Client Services Officer to optimise occupancy, AN-ACC funding, and deliver safe, quality clinical care.

At Adventist Senior Living, we are committed to genuine care, integrity, and playing our part in a team that truly makes a difference — for the people we serve and those we serve alongside.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a meaningful leadership role, contribute to a dynamic and supportive care environment, and make a lasting positive impact on the lives of our residents.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager to enhance and promote the quality of resident care.
  • Establish and maintain open dialogue with residents' families and representatives to ensure transparency and trust in care delivery.
  • Lead, direct, and manage nursing staff, addressing performance, development, and workplace issues effectively.
  • Liaise with supervisors and registered staff carrying additional responsibilities, ensuring smooth delegation and operations across care services.
  • Implement strategies to continuously improve clinical standards, ensuring compliance with aged care regulations and promoting best practices in resident care.

What We Offer:

  • A rewarding career grounded by the ASL Way — an intentional, values-based, positive culture-building program committed to person-centred care and support.
  • Salary packaging and a rewards program to maximise the value of your remuneration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • The chance to be part of a service that makes a real difference in the lives of individuals and families within our residential communities.
  • An Employee Assistance Program supporting self-care and personal development.

Who You Are:

  • An AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse with proven leadership experience in clinical or aged care environments.
  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills for effective engagement with families and care teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and overseeing clinical care operations with efficiency and composure.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of care and full compliance with aged care regulations.
  • A solution-focused leader with a demonstrated track record of managing teams and resolving clinical and staffing challenges.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality care and continuously improving residents' wellbeing.

Essentials for this Role:

  1. AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years' post-graduate experience.
  2. Strong clinical expertise in aged care, with a solid understanding of nursing processes and assessments.
  3. Proven experience and commitment to maintaining high standards of care and compliance with aged care regulations, including AN-ACC.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective family and team engagement.
  5. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with databases for finance, maintenance, clinical care, and governance.
  6. Demonstrated skills and experience in leadership, supervision, people management, planning, organising, and decision-making.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to a positive organisational culture, aligned with ASL's signature behaviours of Achievement, Performance, Connection, and Wellbeing.
  8. Valid driver's licence.
  9. Current NDIS Check or willingness to obtain.
  10. Current vaccinations as required for the role, or willingness to obtain.

Employment with Adventist Senior Living is subject to a satisfactory medical assessment, vaccination history, and background checks, including reference checks and NDIS Working with Vulnerable People checks.
