An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and hard-working employee to join our Adbri Cement Production team in Darwin as a Shift Operator.

This is a full time permanent role

 

The role

As a member of the Production team you will work day shift, with relief shift work as required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Bulk Bagging, Paper bagging, palletising and loading of trucks
  • Cement Mill operation (feed to silo) including quality testing and result interpretation
  • Working of clinker stockpile within the clinker shed to ensure continuous supply to the Mill
  • Loading of Limestone, granulated blast furnace slag and gypsum into appropriate hoppers to ensure continuous supply to the Mill
  • Assisting the maintenance team

 

In addition, Shift Operators must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Provide relief to shift operations when required
  • Undertake training to obtain additional licences necessary for the role
  • Comply with Company Safety, Health and Environment standards and procedures
  • Maintain plant housekeeping standards
  • Maintain a sound understanding of all plant and processes
  • Ensure and be accountable for quality control in the area of work
  • Perform unsupervised all necessary work within their skill classification to maintain the plant in an operational condition
  • Submit work requests on computerised systems
  • Operate machinery and use hand tools as required

 

What you will need to succeed

  • Desirable to have the following tickets: Forklift, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Front end loader and/or excavator operations experience. Training will be provided where necessary
  • Possess a desire for further career development with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be physically fit and comfortable when working in confined spaces
  • Have basic computing skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team
