The role
We are seeking a Key Account Manager – South East Queensland to join Hy-Tec, based in Pinkenba, QLD.
This role will play a pivotal part in driving strategic growth, customer retention and market share across one of Adbri’s largest concrete operations. You will be responsible for managing major customer accounts, securing new infrastructure and high-rise project opportunities, and strengthening Hy-Tec’s position across the South East Queensland construction materials market.
Working closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, developers, government agencies, project owners and internal operational teams, you will build strong customer partnerships, support complex supply solutions and help deliver sustainable commercial outcomes across concrete and quarry products.
This is a highly autonomous role suited to a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys strategic account management, project development and building long-term customer relationships in the construction or building materials sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a strategic portfolio of major accounts across South East Queensland
- Establish and maintain relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, developers and key project stakeholders
- Secure greater share of strategic project pipelines across infrastructure, high-rise residential and commercial sectors
- Identify and pursue major project opportunities across roads, rail, water, ports, energy and transport initiatives
- Develop partnerships with government agencies, engineering consultancies and project owners
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements and manage contract performance
- Drive customer retention and protect existing major accounts from leakage
- Collaborate with internal teams to align operational capacity, customer demand and service delivery
- Support tailored product solutions and technical service delivery for complex projects
- Maintain CRM systems to forecast demand, manage pipeline opportunities and support sales planning
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned with Adbri standards and regulatory requirements
What you will need to succeed
- Previous experience in key account management, strategic sales or account management within construction, building materials or a related industry
- Proven ability to drive sales growth, customer retention and commercial outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver value-added customer solutions
- Understanding of concrete products, quarry materials and/or construction supply chain logistics
- Experience engaging with contractors, developers, government agencies, consultants or infrastructure stakeholders
- High level of responsiveness, problem-solving ability and customer service orientation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a team environment
- Experience with SAP, Power BI or Salesforce will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, marketing or a related discipline will be highly regarded
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake regular customer and site visits
