The role

As the Senior Financial Account for the Adbri Group, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of Adbri’s regulatory and shareholder reporting requirements along with participating in the profitability improvement initiatives and projects. 

This position plays a pivotal role in the corporate accounting team and partners with the business divisions, providing commercial insights to improve profitability, through Financial Planning and Analysis tasks.

You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Group Accounting.

This role can be based in either Adelaide or Sydney, this is a full-time permanent role, which offers flexible work arrangements.

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting and Reporting:

  • Participate in the establishment of robust systems and protocols for monthly financial reporting to key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with reporting and regulatory standards.
  • Document and maintain key accounting policies - you will play a key role in the design, development, and communication of these policies to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Manage and implement changes to Australian accounting standards and IFRIC decisions.
  • Lead initiatives for process enhancement, optimising efficiency and precision across financial operations.
  • Collaborate closely with business divisions, offering expert advice on technical accounting matters to bolster strategic project outcomes.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Participate in various profitability improvement initiatives, including but not limited to, revenue driver analysis, site profitability and drag index, ad-hoc projects
  • Participate in the financial review of the key Capital Expenditure projects

 

What you will need to succeed

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying Australian accounting standards in a Big 4 Accounting firm
  • Knowledge of US GAAP ideal
  • 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience ideally in a large, multinational organisation
  • Proven track record of collaborating with Senior Management
  • Experience collaborating with non-finance functions
  • Advanced excel skills along with exposure to financial reporting tools (TM1, SAC, Anaplan etc) and SAC, SAP BI & Power BI
  • Previous exposure to participating in large process/profitability improvement projects will be highly regarded
