We’re looking for a strategic, commercially minded leader to drive the successful delivery of a high-impact portfolio of capital and operational optimisation projects across our construction materials business. As Group Manager, Program Delivery, you will ensure initiatives are delivered in line with validated business outcomes and financial benefits.

This role is ideal for an experienced business leader with a strong track record in program and project delivery, including PMO leadership in complex industrial environments. You’ll bring sharp commercial acumen, a strong focus on value realisation and the confidence to challenge assumptions and lift performance. With operations spanning manufacturing, transport, and logistics, a background in engineering and leadership—ideally in cement, construction materials, or related heavy industry—will be critical to effectively interrogate technical assumptions and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

 Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic, high-impact capital and operational projects
  • Lead and evolve the PMO function, ensuring consistency in governance, reporting, and execution across the portfolio of projects.
  • Implement robust reporting and tracking mechanisms to monitor program performance and KPIs
  • Drive a high-performance culture by providing rigorous financial oversight, including continuous benefits tracking, budgeting, and forecast management to ensure the delivery of pre-validated financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritise initiatives based on business value and benefit
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, fostering collaboration, alignment, and shared ownership of project outcomes. Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks that may impact program delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes and capabilities, including enhancing organisational project management maturity and capability.
  • Provide critical evaluation of technical and operational assumptions, project progress and alignment to intended outcomes.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout delivery.

 Attributes

  • Extensive P&L leadership experience, coupled with proven track record in delivering complex, cross-functional projects in heavy industry, with strong preference for backgrounds in cement, construction materials, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or evolving a Project Management Office (PMO), with a strong grasp of governance, reporting, and delivery frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or related field); MBA or Master’s in Project Management or a related discipline is a strong advantage
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience in capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and benefits realisation
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate technical assumptions and delivery risks
  • Deep knowledge of program and project management methodologies and tools (e.g. Monday.com, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence decision-making, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to travel domestically as required
