The role
We are currently seeking an experienced and safety minded Plant Manager to oversee the operations and assets within Adbri Cement in the Northern Territory.
Reporting to the General Manager of Operations in SA, NSW & NT, the Plant Manager will provide leadership, strategic direction and operational support to ensure assets meet production targets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Darwin, NT.
Responsibilities
- Implement strategies to drive continuous improvement in hazard identification, reporting and reduction.
- Regular reviews of manufacturing processes to ensure that customer’s quality and dispatched product targets are achieved.
- Management of imported clinker, slag and gypsum to ensure continuity of supply of quality product to the market.
- Ensure the effective management of production schedules, operations and maintenance across the site to maintain current and future stock levels – against current and future customer requirements.
- Management of the Darwin plant and Alice Springs depot asset health and reliability management.
- Management of the Alice Springs cement supply chain logistics.
- Management of the Mataranka limestone quarry and associated assets and the limestone supply to the Darwin plant.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Maintain position on the executive committee of NT Chamber of Commerce Manufacturers Council and actively contribute to council goals of promoting manufacturing within NT.
- Develop strategies and facilitate Enterprise Agreement negotiations
What you will need to succeed
- Ideally at least 5-years cement plant experience particularly grinding circuits
- 5-7 years production and people management within an industrial environment.
- Team management, preferably within heavy industry.
- Act with integrity and foster strong relationships with customers/clients
- ISO9001 quality management systems.
