About the role:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Credit and Affordability Manager is responsible for the efficient management of overdue debts. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the Credit and Hardship policies, and will oversee collection procedures for all debts due to ActewAGL Retail. 

We are looking for a strategic thinker with proven stakeholder management skills and significant operational leadership experience. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing ActewAGL Retail’s Credit & Affordability strategy. 
  • Setting objectives for the Credit & Affordability team, including embedding continuous improvement & innovation.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining organisational policies and procedures for the Credit & Affordability team.  
  • Delivering a cost-effective payment, credit & collections function, maximising and protecting cash flow whilst maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Managing all operational aspects of debt collection and leading the Credit & Affordability team including providing guidance to mitigate any potential risks, motivating the team to achieve targets, and managing the daily workloads and staff performance and development.
  • Preparation and presentation of reporting on debtors and performance of the Credit & Affordability function. 

About You:

  •  Strong knowledge and understanding of credit and debt recovery process, with proven experience in managing a credit function. 
  • Experience and knowledge of computerised billing systems and a sound proficiency in the use of IT and relevant software for reporting and correspondence purposes.
  •  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  •  Strong communication skills with an exceptional level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to investigate issues, find creative solutions and implement.
