Communications and Content Officer

ActewAGL Retail’s Brand and Marketing team has a unique and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, collaborative and analytical individual, with a passion to learn, to join our team as our Communications and Content Officer. In this role, you will be delivering high quality customer communications using your outstanding writing, editing and digital communications skills. 

The opportunity

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be part of a multi-discipline brand, marketing and communications team that includes ActewAGL’s external marketing partner. You will play a key role in assisting with the creation and delivery of transactional, regulatory and marketing communications to customers through traditional and digital channels. 

A key focus of this role is drafting, editing and implementing communications copy and materials to suit varied audiences, ensuring clear, effective communication that aligns with the ActewAGL brand voice and supports marketing plans, product programs and sales initiatives – with business outcomes and customer satisfaction top-of-mind. 

A day in the life of the role 

  • Assist with coordination between ActewAGL and its external marketing partner to support the achievement of objectives, meet stakeholder expectations, facilitate efficient delivery of communications and ensure alignment across business units.
  • Make content changes to the ActewAGL website through the Content Management System.
  • Assist with briefing more substantial website content changes to the external marketing partner or Technology team.
  • Assist with UX writing for the customer self-service portal.
  • Schedule and send email marketing emails in support of marketing campaigns, product programs and sales initiatives.
  • Draft short-form content such as social media posts, under guidance, and publish on ActewAGL’s social media accounts to support customer education and engagement initiatives.

About you

  • You have tertiary or relevant qualifications and work experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or a related discipline. 
  • You possess exceptional writing, editing and proof reading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • You possess the ability to tailor communications for different audiences, purposes and channels. 
  • You have experience in using Microsoft 365 and basic to intermediate skills in Adobe InDesign.
  • You have experience using a Content Management System to edit website content.
  • You have an understanding of social media platforms and their use for marketing and communications purposes.
