Energy Consultant

  • $78,611 plus 15% superannuation (opportunity to progress through the competency framework)

About the Role

As one of the region’s leading energy retailers, our customers rely on us for clear answers, trusted advice and seamless support. In this role, you’ll deliver exactly that.

Every day, you’ll engage with customers across phone, written and face to face channels, providing energy advice, promoting relevant plans and products, and helping resolve enquiries with confidence. You’ll be supported by a friendly team, modern technology and a workplace located right in the heart of Canberra’s CBD—surrounded by shops, cafés and easy transport.

Reporting to the Contact Centre Team Leader, you’ll bring strong communication skills, problem solving abilities and a passion for delivering meaningful customer experiences across acquisition, retention and loyalty activities.

What Your Day May Look Like

In this role, you will:

  • Manage customer enquiries through our inbound Contact Centre.
  • Move confidently between phone, written and face to face communication.
  • Ensure compliance with essential processes, including Privacy, Life Support, customer onboarding, payments and billing.
  • Promote ActewAGL energy plans, products and services with accuracy and transparency.
  • Use your understanding of the ActewAGL billing system to resolve customer queries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience or internal processes, and share these insights with the leadership team.
  • Deliver customer experiences that meet best practice benchmarks for ease, sentiment and successful outcomes.
  • Produce clear, accurate written responses using strong grammar and punctuation.
  • Apply sound mathematical skills to explain bills, charges and calculations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth customer outcomes.

About You

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Experience in customer service.
  • Strong writing skills, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using computer systems, including Microsoft Office and customer service platforms.
  • A keen eye for accuracy and a genuine interest in helping customers.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast paced environment where every day brings something new.
