About the Role
ActewAGL Retail is seeking an experienced Energy Solutions & Partnerships Manager to lead the development and delivery of innovative energy solutions, external sales channels and sponsorships across our retail energy business.
This is a critical leadership role within the Energy Sales and Solutions team, reporting to the Group Manager, Energy Sales & Solutions, and plays a pivotal role in driving new revenue streams, accelerating market growth and creating sustainable competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
As a commercially astute and hands on leader, you will design, execute and continually optimise external sales channels, partnership and sponsorship strategies that deliver strong customer acquisition, retention and operational efficiency outcomes. You will adopt a solutions focused, outcome driven approach, working across omni channel environments to align external channels, energy solutions, strategic partners and sponsorships with ActewAGL’s broader strategic objectives.
We are seeking a leader who is comfortable working in ground breaking environments where clear precedents do not always exist. You take initiative, think strategically and remain highly outcome focused, while consistently upholding strong governance, safety and regulatory standards.
You will take a hands on, commercially focused approach to sales strategy, and partnership development, with particular emphasis on new and emerging energy solution offerings including electric vehicles, virtual power plants (VPP), smart home solutions and demand response.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Design, execute and manage integrated sales and partnerships strategies to grow market share and revenue
- Lead and manage the partnerships portfolio end to end, including negotiation, contracting and performance management
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across emerging energy solutions
- Negotiate complex commercial contracts with customers and partners, ensuring favourable outcomes for ActewAGL
- Monitor industry trends and the Australian energy retail landscape to inform innovative customer propositions
- Develop new product and service offerings aligned with ActewAGL’s strategic objectives
- Represent ActewAGL at industry events and across external networks
- Provide high quality, commercially sound advice to internal stakeholders and customers
- Champion ActewAGL’s values, safety culture and customer centred approach
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong experience in business development, account management or sales, ideally within new energy or emerging technology environments
- Proven capability in negotiating and executing complex commercial agreements
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining senior customer and stakeholder relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to varied audiences
- The ability to operate independently in a complex, fast moving and evolving market
