We are currently seeking a Principal Civil Designer – In-Ground Services Coordination to join our civil team. This is a key technical role focused on the coordination and design of complex in-ground infrastructure across major projects including data centres, defence sites and brownfield developments.

About the role

This role will see you leading the coordination of critical underground services across multidisciplinary projects, working closely with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating in-ground infrastructure including electrical reticulation (HV/MV/LV), communications, water, sewer, stormwater and fuel systems
  • Developing and managing detailed utility layouts for complex developments
  • Leading 3D modelling and clash detection of underground services
  • Chairing coordination meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary design workshops
  • Producing detailed design documentation from concept through to construction
  • Supporting construction phase activities including RFIs and as-constructed models
  • Mentoring designers and engineers to build capability within the team
  • Contributing to the development of BIM frameworks and digital design innovation

Skills and experience

  • 8+ years’ experience in civil design with a focus on in-ground infrastructure coordination
  • Strong experience delivering complex infrastructure, data centre or major development projects
  • Advanced proficiency in 12d (preferred) or Civil 3D, along with Navisworks for clash detection
  • Solid understanding of Australian standards, codes and best practice
  • Proven ability to deliver designs from masterplanning through to construction
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Highly regarded:

  • Data centre project experience
  • Experience working within BIM environments
  • Experience in civil siteworks design and/or 12d Drainage Network Editor
