Our Brisbane office is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record in building services design to join our team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical services design and analysis using industry standard software packages.
  • Working across internal disciplines to deliver and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects
  • Taking responsibility for the internal management of the delivery and planning for allocated projects
  • Understanding, identifying and proactively managing project risks
  • Developing mechanical design projects (or components of projects), design basis, scopes of work, specifications, cost estimation, proposals, design reports, etc.
  • Liaising with clients to understand requirements and resolve any queries
  • Attending and leading ACOR mechanical representation in project design meetings with Client teams
  • Applying your engineering skills to a diverse group of developments such as aged care, commercial, residential, Defence and industrial projects
  • Participation in design and safety reviews, and risk assessments
  • Participation in construction support activities including responses to requests for information, submittal reviews, construction site visits, and design revisions/management of change
  • Completion of discipline checks for design documents and drawings
  • Coordinating staff and project specific CAD and Revit drafting deliverables

You will have:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong mechanical (HVAC) engineering knowledge and experience across a range of sectors and climates
  • Experience in cooling and heating load estimations (ACADS-BSG CAMEL)
  • Understanding of standards, regulations and legislation across various sectors
  • Extensive knowledge of interfaces between mechanical and other building disciplines
  • Understanding of project management processes and delivery
  • Strong technical and client management skills, including a professional approach
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to provide detailed reports
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Confidence and determination in problem solving to derive innovative solutions
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit software is preferred
