We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Team Manager / Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead our NSW Mechanical team.
This is a key leadership role for an experienced people manager and respected technical leader who can drive team performance, capability and growth while remaining actively involved in project delivery and client engagement. Leading a team of established engineers, you will play a critical role in shaping team culture, mentoring talent, supporting business growth and ensuring high-quality project outcomes across the NSW market.
You will work closely with national mechanical leadership and the broader Building Services business, combining hands-on project involvement with strategic team leadership and operational oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the NSW Mechanical team, driving performance, engagement, capability growth and a strong team culture.
- Oversee team resourcing, workload planning and project delivery to ensure high-quality, commercially successful outcomes.
- Remain actively involved in the delivery of key projects, providing senior technical leadership, client engagement and engineering oversight.
- Support business development activities, key client relationships and strategic growth initiatives across the NSW market.
- Collaborate with national mechanical leadership to drive consistency, technical excellence and alignment across the broader business.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within a building services consultancy, including leadership of medium to large multidisciplinary projects.
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and manage high-performing engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with Chartered status and relevant professional registration.
- Strong technical expertise across mechanical building services design, NCC and Australian Standards.
- Commercial acumen, strong stakeholder management skills and a demonstrated ability to contribute to business growth.
