As a Piping Designer, you will contribute to ACOR’s success both locally and nationally within our Energy team, supporting the design of fuel and chemical storage and handling facilities. This role is ideal for someone with strong pipework and associated infrastructure modelling capability, along with experience in petrochemical or related industries.
Duties and responsibilities
- Deliver 3D design packages from tender and concept stages through to detailed design, in accordance with Australian standards and relevant authority codes
- Prepare and maintain accurate drawings and document registration systems in line with project specifications and applicable internal and external standards
- Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the design process
- Support the in-house drafting team as required in the capacity of design draftsperson
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of ACOR’s petrochemical and dangerous goods capability across the business
Skills and experience
- Proficiency in Plant3D and AutoCAD
- Strong 3D modelling capability in pipework and associated infrastructure
- Sound understanding of Australian standards relevant to piping and associated design work
- General computer literacy, including MS Office
- Ability to work independently and produce drawings from a design brief
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all stages of the design process
- Experience in petrochemical, fuel handling or related industrial environments will be highly regarded
- Commercial construction knowledge is advantageous
