The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager Sales to join the team at Somerton. Reporting to the Executive General Manager Supply Division, your key focus will be to lead and develop the State Sales teams focusing on delivering Sales outcomes for ACM Parts full range of products throughout Australia, through actively developing, coaching, mentoring, and managing the productivity and performance of the sales teams and individual team members.
The GM Sales will ensure the safety of employees and the environment, whilst leading high performing teams in line with the values of the organisation.

Role responsibilities:
- Effectively lead, coach and mentor the Collision and Mechanical Sales teams to achieve the targeted budgetary outcomes
- Establish sales goals for the sales teams to achieve the overall business objectives
- Establish and maintain mutually beneficial customer relationships both internally and externally to AMA Group
- Monitor and ensure all sales team members abide by agreed processes, procedures and guidelines
- Monitor Sales team selling behaviours and coach as necessary to achieve the agreed KPI’s
- Utilise Pinnacle & or Parts Check system to monitor sales performance
- Provide regular development and performance counselling to ensure sales productivity and performance metrics are being met
- Effectively manage and action project plans across ACM Parts National Sales teams
- Set promotional activity targets to motivate the team in line with operational sales objectives and agreed Marketing support levels
- Ensure the sales function is effectively resourced at all times
- Liaise with other departments ensuring sales are maximised with high customer service standards
- Ensure all documentation and reporting are processed in a timely manner
- Gather intelligence on customers and competitors, generating leads for possible sales
- Provide recommendations and implement ideas to drive increased sales performance
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Sales Strategy and Action Plan for the full ACM product range
Does this sound like you?
Required knowledge and experience
- Prior automotive experience and knowledge of automotive parts market
- 15+ years experience in a sales capacity at a senior or leadership level
- 10+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Cold and outbound sales experience
- Computer and telephony skills – multiuser telephone system, ACM sales and inventory systems, and Microsoft office
- Proven ability to meet and exceed agreed targets in a high-pressure sales environment
- Strong communication & negotiation skills
- Ability to identify customer needs and challenges and offer solutions
- Must be organised, motivated and a self-starter
- Leadership skills with an ability to manage staff
