About the Role

  • Permanent, Part Time
  • Work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Administer online placement tests for students entering VET and higher education courses. The applicant will need to use IELTS rubrics to assess writing and speaking tests to determine if potential students are ready to enter their tertiary courses.

The Placement Test Officer coordinates and administers English placement tests for students entering higher education courses. This role involves supporting test candidates, agents, and Admissions with setup, procedures, and results, while ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting. The officer also responds to queries, ensures fair testing practices, and assesses certificates to confirm students’ readiness. Additional duties include participating in meetings, managing records, complying with the Code of Conduct, and engaging in professional development.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and manage online placement tests for students applying to VET and higher education courses.
  • Use IELTS rubrics to evaluate students' writing and speaking skills.
  • Provide accurate and fair assessments based on established criteria.
  • Analyse test results to determine if students are prepared for their respective tertiary courses.
  • Offer recommendations for further study or support if necessary.
  • Prepare a test result report and share with admissions team.
  • Keep detailed records of student test results and assessments.
  • About You

About You

Necessary:

  • Experience in administering placement tests
  • Qualification in CELTA, or a CERT IV. Bachelor or Masters in TESOL
  • ELICOS qualified professional with a strong background in educational assessments
  • Proven experience in administering online placement tests
  • Expertise in evaluating students' readiness for VET and higher education courses
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Committed to ensuring fair and accurate assessments

Desired

  • Cert in IELTS/PTE Assessment (writing and speaking)
  • ELICOS Teaching Experience
