About The Opportunity

  • Supports Master of Social Work students during placement – Acts as a bridge between the college, students, and field agencies, ensuring students receive appropriate learning opportunities and support during their placement.
  • Conducts site visits & evaluations – Regularly checks in with students and field supervisors, conducting site visits, assessments, and problem-solving any challenges that arise.
  • Ensures educational & ethical standards – Helps integrate social work theory with practice, ensures compliance with ethical guidelines, and facilitates reflective learning through supervision and feedback.

About You

  • A Social Work degree qualification recognised by The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • A minimum of 5 years post graduate, social work practice experience
  • Conduct a minimum of two liaison visits (via Zoom) and regular check-ins with students and supervisors throughout the placement period.
  • Mark students placement work and assess progress
  • Respond to students in difficulty during placement.
  • The ability to facilitate communication with multiple stakeholders with time limitations.
  • Varied availability during office hours
  • Ability and willingness to travel to agency sites if required
  • Ability to work with or learn Moodle Learning Management System and In Place.
  • Based within Australia and able to attend campus when requested.

Note: A current National Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check, will be required by the successful applicant.

Join our new Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program and help shape the next generation of social workers.

As a Field Education Liaison Officer you will :

  • Conducts site visits & evaluations – Regularly checks in with social work students and field supervisors, conducting site visits, assessments, and problem-solving any challenges that arise.
  • Ensures educational & ethical standards – Helps integrate social work theory with practice, ensures compliance with ethical guidelines, and facilitates reflective learning through supervision and feedback.

About You

You hold a Social Work degree recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and have a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate social work practice experience. You excel in conducting liaison visits via Zoom and maintaining regular check-ins with students and supervisors throughout placement periods. Your skills include marking student placement work, assessing progress, and providing support to students in difficulty.

You are adept at facilitating communication with multiple stakeholders, even under time constraints, and have varied availability during office hours. You are willing to travel to agency sites if required and can work with or learn the Moodle Learning Management System and In Place. Based within Australia, you can attend campus when requested. A current National Police Clearance Certificate and Working with Children Check are essential for this role.
