Achieve Australia is the premier provider of disability services and support coordination in the Sydney and Northern Rivers regions of NSW.
Our Passion is social inclusion for people with disability.
Our Purpose is to build extraordinary lives, supporting people with disability to be well, have a home, choose a career, learn new skills, participate in their community and enjoy a full life.
We live by our Principles of inclusiveness, stewardship, extraordinary outcomes and ethical practices.
The Sewing Basket receives and re-sells a wide range of donated fabrics and patterns, patchwork, embroidery materials, wools and yarns, ribbons, thread and haberdashery, and more. Whilst also providing employment opportunities for people with disability and volunteering for people who love sewing and related crafts.
Our new site in Kincumber, on the Central Coast, will have a warehouse where all donated stock (from Sydney and the Central Coast) will be received, sorted and prepared for distribution to our retail locations, including one onsite.
Due to us opening this new site we are seeking volunteers interested in working in this combined retail and warehouse space.
As a volunteer you will assist with the sorting, categorization, pricing, packing and selling of donated stock. There will also be a requirement to cut and trim all types of fabric into saleable sizes ready for retail.
Knowledge and understanding of sewing, quilting and related craft activities is important in this environment. As is an understanding of the importance of exceptional customer service.
If this sounds like the volunteering role you have been looking for, hit the Apply button at the top of this screen and someone will be in touch to discuss further.
Achieve Australia is committed to implementing safer recruitment practices. This means we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we support and we expect staff to share this commitment. As a result, your application will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks; including a criminal history. Applications will be assessed on merit.
