We are seeking an experienced Registered/Enrolled Nurse to support our after hours clinical triage service. This is a highly autonomous role requiring strong clinical knowledge, sound decision making and the confidence to assess and prioritise resident care needs independently.
Working alongside an After Hours Administrator, you will review incoming clinical requests from Residential Aged Care Homes, determine urgency, coordinate appropriate medical review pathways and ensure residents receive timely care.
This is not a traditional nursing role. You will use your experience to assess clinical information, identify priorities and support appropriate escalation pathways.
Available Shifts
Current coverage requirements include:
- Saturday: 3:00PM to 10:00PM
- Sunday: 8:00AM to 10:00PM
About the Role
You will:
- Triage and prioritise incoming clinical requests
- Assess urgency and determine appropriate care pathways
- Decide whether cases require immediate locum review or can be managed through scheduled rounds
- Review clinical documentation, pathology results and resident history
- Contact Residential Aged Care Homes to gather additional information when required
- Escalate urgent concerns appropriately
- Coordinate with doctors, nurse practitioners and support teams
- Maintain accurate documentation across multiple systems
- Participate in clinical handovers between teams
What We're Looking For
- Registered/Enrolled Nurse with significant clinical experience
- Bachelor/Diploma of Nursing and AHPRA registration with no conditions
- High level conceptual and analytical skills, able to respond quickly in a complex, evolving environment
- Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience
- Strong aged care, primary care, acute care or community nursing background
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to make confident decisions independently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Comfortable working across multiple software systems simultaneously
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- WFH technical set up at with consistent connectivity
