With continued growth across Queensland, we are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Cairns.
The Opportunity
This on-site role provides advanced nursing assessment, diagnosis, care and clinical intervention to residents within residential aged care services in the Cairns region.
As a Nurse Practitioner with Access Aged Care, you will practise within a structured, multidisciplinary model — working collaboratively with on-site nurses, General Practitioners, telehealth geriatricians and physicians, and a highly experienced administrative team.
This role is designed for a clinician who values clinical depth, autonomy and continuity of care. You will work with a consistent cohort of residents, enabling thoughtful, relationship-based practice within a well-supported governance framework.

Qualifications
- Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
- Evidence of appropriate and continuing professional indemnity insurance
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
Essential Criteria
- Advanced clinical experience in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and health promotion within scope of practice
- Demonstrated leadership and clinical governance capability
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Sound knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and regulatory requirements
- Comfortable using technology and clinical software systems
