A.B. Paterson College is seeking an inspiring and experienced educator to step into the role of Acting Assistant Head of Faculty – The Arts. This acting leadership appointment will run from Term 2 2026 until the end of Term 2 2027 and offers an opportunity to assist in the day‑to‑day leadership and smooth functioning of our vibrant Arts Faculty.

We are seeking a committed educational leader who demonstrates deep subject expertise, exceptional pedagogical practice, and a passion for fostering creativity across Visual Art, Drama, Music, and related disciplines. The successful applicant will support the Head of Faculty in driving curriculum excellence, enhancing staff capability, and cultivating a dynamic, student‑centred learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Head of Faculty – The Arts in the effective leadership, coordination, and day‑to‑day management of the Faculty
  2. Oversee and contribute to Arts events, performances, exhibitions, and co‑curricular programs.
  3. Contribute to the planning and delivery of faculty events, performances, exhibitions, and co‑curricular Arts initiatives that enrich the cultural life of the College.
  4. Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons that foster creativity, artistic expression, and critical thinking across relevant year levels.
  5. Create a positive, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment using proactive and restorative behaviour strategies.
