A.B. Paterson College is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Psychology and Science Teacher to join our thriving College community. This is a full‑time, permanent position commencing in Term 3, 2026.

We are seeking an educator with a strong passion for Psychology and Science, committed to delivering engaging, curriculum‑aligned learning that fosters critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and student wellbeing. The ability to teach across multiple year levels and respond effectively to diverse learning needs is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned Psychology and Science lessons that promote critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and evidence‑based understanding across relevant year levels that align with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus,.
  2. Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respectful discussion, and academic growth, using proactive and restorative behaviour management strategies.
  3. Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support individual learning goals.
  4. Contribute to the College’s pastoral care and co-curricular programs, building strong relationships with students and supporting their holistic development.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, reflect on teaching practices, and contribute to a culture of innovation and professional excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrated experience and subject expertise in teaching Senior Psychology and Science, with the ability to deliver QCAA‑aligned curriculum and assessment at a senior secondary level.
  • A strong commitment to student wellbeing, academic excellence, and evidence‑based teaching practice.
  • An educator who is familiar with, or willing to embrace, the Teaching for Understanding (TFU) framework developed by Harvard Graduate School of Education.
  • A collaborative and professional team member who contributes positively to faculty collaboration, moderation processes, and broader College life.
  • Someone who embraces innovation and continuous improvement in teaching practice
  • A strong background and sound working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabi, including assessment design, marking, and moderation requirements.
  • Up-to-date skills in the use of IT and other digital classroom resources
  • Current CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain
  • Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position
