Senior Business and HASS Teacher

A.B. Paterson College is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Business Teacher to join our thriving College community. This is a full-time, fixed-term position commencing Term 3, 2026 through to the end of Term 2, 2027.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Senior Business education, capable of delivering high-quality, curriculum-aligned instruction, and committed to supporting strong academic outcomes. Experience and/or the ability to teach other Senior HASS subjects, such as Accounting, Economics, and Legal Studies, will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan, deliver, and evaluate high‑quality, QCAA‑aligned Senior Business lessons, with a strong focus on Unit 3 and Unit 4 requirements, including preparation for external assessment and mock examinations.
2. Maintain continuity of learning and assessment practice for students during a period of extended leave, ensuring clear progression, consistency, and academic rigour.
3. Use effective pedagogical strategies to foster critical thinking, commercial awareness, and analytical skills aligned to Senior Business curriculum objectives.
4. Design, administer, and moderate formative and summative assessments, providing timely, constructive feedback to support student performance and ATAR outcomes.
5. Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment using proactive and consistent behaviour management practices appropriate to senior students.
6. Contribute to the College’s pastoral care and co‑curricular programs, building strong, respectful relationships and supporting students’ wellbeing.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience teaching Senior Business, with strong confidence in delivering Units 3 and 4, including preparation for external assessments and mock exams.
• Proven capacity to step into an established program and maintain continuity, momentum, and expectations for senior students.
• Experience and/or ability to teach other Senior HASS subjects, such as Accounting, Economics, and/or Legal Studies, is highly advantageous.
• A strong commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence
• A collaborative team member who contributes positively to College and Faculty life
• A reflective practitioner who embraces innovation and continuous improvement in teaching
• Sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA Senior syllabuses
• Confident and current use of digital technologies and learning platforms
• Current Teacher Registration (mandatory)
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
