Title: IQA Technician II

Job Summary
The IQA Technician II supports manufacturing and testing operations by performing inspections on inbound materials used in medical device assembly. This role ensures compliance with GMP, GLP, FDA, ISO 13485, and Abbott Quality System requirements. The technician conducts Tier 1 (manual inspections with calipers, gauges, rulers, visual checks) and Tier 2 (advanced inspections using 3D/2D measuring projectors and optical instruments such as OGP and Keyence IM) inspections. Responsibilities include documenting non-conformances, reviewing control plans, interpreting engineering drawings, and using ERP systems for data collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Tier 1 & Tier 2 inspections on parts, labeling, and printed materials.
- Accept/reject supplier lots and document inspection results.
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
- Troubleshoot, suggest alternatives, and recommend quality improvements.
- Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and FDA/ISO compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2–5 years of quality/inspection experience (medical device experience preferred).
- Proficiency with inspection tools (calipers, gauges, CMM, OGP, Keyence IM).
- Strong knowledge of sampling techniques, IPC-610-A, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication and attention to detail.
