Title: Attending Veterinarian

Location: Abbott Park, Illinois

Duration: 12 Month Assignment

Part-Time 100% Onsite

The average weekly hours will be approximately 10. However, there will be fluctuations based on animal health cases and the initial training period, which will require more hours. For instance, our metrics indicate a range of 6-24 hours per week.

The position is part-time and on-site. Emergency calls and consultations could be handled remotely on a case-by-case basis.

Additional information regarding the emergency calls:

Most emergency events occur during normal working hours, but occasionally they can happen outside of these hours, including weekends. These emergencies can involve phone calls lasting 0.5-1 hour or on-site visits ranging from 1-6 hours, depending on the health case. On average, unplanned phone consultations occur about three times per week. In-person on-site visits are needed approximately 1-2 times per month. Weekend in-person calls are very rare, with only one instance in the past year.

Qualifications:

• In monitoring and conducting evaluations of animal health.
• Knowledge of the nature, cause, and development of diseases and the changes caused by disease.
• Requires knowledge of the ethical treatment of animal subjects.
• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
• Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
